Who writes and edits Smart Ring HQ?
Rob Griffiths is the editor of Smart Ring HQ and is responsible for everything the site publishes. He writes about wearable health tech, and in particular sensor accuracy, validation studies and what a ring really costs to own once you add the subscription.

How do we research a ring?
Start from the manufacturer's own documents
Specification sheets, subscription terms, warranty and returns policies, and regulatory filings tell us what a ring claims to do and what it costs over time.
Check the claims against independent data
We compare accuracy claims with peer-reviewed validation studies and independent polysomnography comparisons. The Quantified Scientist's published tests are our main reference for sleep staging.
Read what owners report
We look for patterns in battery life, fit, durability and app problems across owner reviews and forums. We use these patterns to cross-check other sources, and we never present them as our own experience.
Say how sure we are
We keep confirmed facts, manufacturer claims and our own inferences apart on the page. If we cannot support a claim, we either leave it out or say plainly that it has not been verified.
How do affiliate links work here?
Smart Ring HQ is paid for by readers. Some links to retailers are affiliate links, including Amazon Associates links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission, and the price you pay stays the same. Pages with affiliate links carry a disclosure above the first link.
We set the criteria a ring is judged on before we assess any particular brand. Rankings follow those criteria, never commission rates, and a ring with no affiliate programme can still be our top pick. No brand pays for coverage, and no brand sees or approves our copy before it is published. The affiliate disclosure lists the programmes we use.
How do we handle corrections?
Prices, subscriptions and firmware change quickly, so we re-check our reviews and comparisons regularly. Every article shows the date it was last updated.
If you spot a mistake, let us know through the contact page (choose "Feedback or correction") or email hello@smartringhq.com. Please tell us the page and the claim. Once we confirm an error, we correct the article and update its date. If the error changed a recommendation, we say what changed.
What will we never publish?
First-hand experience that did not happen, such as "we wore it for six months" when we did not.
Invented testimonials, quotes, reviewers or credentials.
Statistics or accuracy figures we cannot source.
Claims about rival products that we cannot back up.
